Dream Partner Tag Match:
Austin Aries and Bryan Danielson defeated Erick Stevens and Jay Briscoe when
Danielson pinned Jay Briscoe with a small package. Danielson bows to Aries after
the match since Aries still refuses to shake hands.
Ultimate Endurance Match:
Austin Aries and Bryan Danielson vs Davey Richards and Rocky Romero vs
Jimmy Jacobs and Tyler Black vs BJ Whitmer and Brent Albright.
Things started out very fast paced with no real alliances as everybody attacked
everybody. The AOTF elimination came when Davey Richards eliminated Tyler Black
via a roll-up. Once things settled into the I Quit fall, everyone targeted
Dragon’s leg with kicks and submissions. After a long, brutal workover session,
Dragon got the tag and there was lots of chaos and everyone going for falls.
The finish to the fall came when the legal men were Whitmer and Dragon. Dragon
slapped the Triangle Choke onto Whitmer and we got WACKY SIMULTANEOUS SUBMISSIONS!
with Davey slapping the Kimura onto Aries and Albright going for the
Crowbar on Rocky. There were simultaneous taps but Todd Sinclair correctly ruled
that only Whitmer’s tap out counted as he and Dragon were legal. That lead to
Team Work versus NRC for the belts. The crowd was solidly behind Dragon and
Aries and was going nuts as Dragon had the Cattle Mutilation on at the
same time as Aries had the Horns of Aries on. Then, they both teamed
up on the legal man and unleashed a nasty barrage of Aries knees and Dragon
elbows. It seemed at that point that Team Work, would prevail but Davey managed
a quick roll-up on Aries to take the win and the titles.
Post-Match: Aries refused to shake Dragon’s hand.
Winners and NEW Ring of Honor Tag Team Champions: Davey Richards and Rocky Romero.

eliminate him, leaving Aries and Dragon to battle it out. After a heated final
exchange that saw Dragon lock in the cattle mutilation, Aries lock in his
finisher and both men deliver stiff elbows and knees. Dragon eventually elbowed
Aries into oblivion until the ref called it.

Wicked hard chops and kicks from KENTA and Strong. Strong took the brunt of most
of KENTA's onslaught. They hit great dives to the floor with Aries suicide-diving
through the legs of a leapfrogging Strong and KENTA coming off the top with a
plancha onto all of them. Scary spot as Strong looked to hotshot KENTA on the
ropes but misplaced it and KENTA got quite a whiplash effect coming down. He
appeared fine. Richards looked really good here as well. Action came down to
great near falls and several teases but no delivery of "Go 2 Sleep." KENTA did
hit the baisaku knee off the top on Aries who was perched on Richards' shoulders
for a great bump. Bout ended after Aries double foot stomped Richards in the head
as he as held up by Strong. Aries then delivered a sick kick to Richards head
while he was still being held up, and then came off the top with the 450 on him

Match of the night, and will likely make my list of best matches I see live in
2006. The crowd chanted “Silas sucks!” Silas hit some hiptosses and he celebrated
in the ring. They had an intense lockup, and they each hit bodyslams. They traded
good mat wrestling, and Young complained that Aries was pulling his hair. Aries
hit a nice dropkick, and Silas fell to the floor. Aries dove through the ropes to
the floor on Silas at 8:30, and the crowd was hot! They brawled around ringside on
the floor. As they went to get back in the ring, Silas nailed a DDT on the ring
apron. In the ring, Aries fired back with chops. Silas hit a dropkick. Aries kicked
at Silas’ left knee, but Aries clutched at his sore neck. Silas choked Aries with
tape. Aries got a nice backslide for a nearfall at 14:00. Aries hit his corkscrew
catapult press into the ring for a nearfall, then he hit the Lion Sault for another
nearfall. Silas hit a hard clothesline to the back of the neck for a nearfall. Aries
hit a nice missile dropkick. Aries then nailed his running dropkick to the face
in the corner for a believable nearfall, and the crowd was hot. Silas hit a Finlay
Roll and went to the ropes, where he went for an Arabian Press, but Aries got his
knees up to block it. Silas got a rollup WHILE Aries had hooked on an Anaconda
Vice/head & neck submission hold. Silas tapped out moments before the ref counted
to three on Aries. However, the ref didn’t see Silas tapping out, and he ruled
that Aries lost via pinfall. The crowd taunted Silas with a “you tapped out!”
chant. Good, intense mat-based action.

Austin Aries and Roderick Strong vs. The Naturals (Chase Stevens and Andy Douglas)
It was a rematch stemming from the beginning of the Tag Team Tournament on iMPACT!
two weeks ago on Spike TV. The former 2-time NWA World Tag Team Champions, The
Naturals were quick to dominate this match in the opening minutes. From clotheslines
to double team suplexes, they were on top. Andy Douglas and Chase Stevens traded
off with quick tags while they worked on taking down Austin Aries. With Austin
Aries and Roderick Strong though, the squeaky wheel gets the grease when it comes
to tight situations and tonight is no exception. During each pin attempt by The
Naturals, we saw either Roderick Strong or Austin Aries coming in for the save.
This caused Douglas to knock the two out while Chase Stevens hit off a Shooting
Star Press taking them down. During the later parts of this match, Austin Aries
and Roderick Strong began to change the complexion of this match in their favor.
Austin Aries went through the ropes like a bullet onto Chase Stevens sending his
head down hard on the concrete flooring. It became a match of dirty tactics enabling
domination on the part of Aries and Strong. The Naturals had one more burst of
momentum in their engine but the fuel was all burnt out when Chase Stevens was
knocked to the outside and the double team on Andy Douglas was performed. Later
though, Austin found himself in the Natural Disaster and just like two weeks ago,
Roderick Strong pulled Andy out and Austin tried the roll up pin with the ropes
assist but the referee caught that this time. Seconds later, the Natural Disaster
was successfully executed for the victory.
Winners: The Naturals

and Strong with a suicide tope to the floor. When Douglas went to re-enter the
ring, Strong and Aries struck crotching Douglas in the ropes. Strong and Aries
made frequent tags as America’s Most Wanted sat above me on the scaffold, drinking
some frosty cold beverages. Douglas survived the attack and tagged in Stevens.
Just when it looked like the Naturals had the victory by hitting Aries with the

Generation Next defeated The Embassy in Steel Cage Warfare.
Rules were similar to Wargames except that it was a single ring and that an
entire team had to be eliminated to win. Match started with Jimmy Rave and
Austin Aries doing some good work. Next was Alex Shelley. Aries had the
advantage but Shelley and Rave began to double team. Matt Sydal came next and
made it a more even match. Then came Abyss and it became a very one-sided brawl.
Roderick Strong entered and cleaned house. They brawled both in and out of the cage.
Shelley wrapped his legs around Aries head and banged it repeatedly
into a chair. Nana entered. Sydal eliminated first...more beatings by the Embassy
on GN. Jade Cheung came out and berated Nana. Nana and Abyss exited the cage and
chased Jade, the rest all followed. Jack Evans came out and climbed to the top
of the cage and did a MEAN backward spin flip off the top onto Abyss and Nana.

There were no allies in this one as all four men fought in, out and flew above

Shelley tagged in but Aries was ready and hit what looked like a flipping Samoan
drop. Shelley paid him back with hard hitting offense like a spinning kick to

Williams tagged in and sang O’ Canada while standing on Aries crotch.
Shelley came back in to hit a slingshot elbow for two. Shelley taunted Aries
like he was going to tag in Sabin, so Aries hit Shelley in the face and

ELIMINATION X:
"The Fallen Angel" Christopher Daniels, "The Samoan Submission Machine" Samoa Joe,
Alex Shelley, and Roderick Strong vs. Chris Sabin, Matt Bentley, Sonjay Dutt and Austin Aries
The first ever Elimination X match started off with Roderick Strong and Matt
Bentley squaring off against each other. Roderick went quick to work with a
couple headlocks to where Matt Bentley tried several times to break out before
finally using his fists to break out. Later in the match, Sonjay Dutt was tagged
in, as he was literally all around Roderick Strong to where he had to tag in
Shelley so he could regain himself. These two combatants now showed what the
X-Division is all about with the wrestling clinic they were putting on. It was
now Samoa Joe’s turn as Sonjay Dutt physically ate Joe’s big boot for dinner on
this night! It was vicious and physical, as now Austin Aries came in to try and
take the big Samoan Submission Machine down. That plan proved to be disastrous as
Samoa Joe quite possibly has put Aries on borrowed time in this match as Daniels
now went to work on him. Later on, Roderick Strong and Chris Sabin were hooking
it up as Strong tagged in the self-proclaimed captain of his team to work on Sabin.
After almost being eliminated earlier, Austin Aries was now back in the ring as
he was on a mission to take someone out as he proved against Daniels and Strong.
He then could a step-up kick from Shelley. By this time, all hell broke loose as
each X star was showcasing their signature maneuvers and special exquisite moves.
Seconds later, we were witnessing high-risk moves to the outside as back in the
inside, Austin Aries eliminated Roderick Strong with a 450 Splash. Shortly after,
Christopher Daniels eliminated Austin Aries with a reverse pin. Sonjay now was
immediate to take full control for his team. He was taking out Shelley, Joe, and
Daniels all at the same time with his great arsenal, but it was a miscalculation
by Sonjay that had himself submit to Alex Shelley in a crossface. It was now Matt
Bentley with the Super Kick that eliminated Alex Shelley. Sabin later delivered
one-drop kick to the upside-down hung Daniels on the turnbuckle and another one
where he looked like he was suspended in midair before hitting Daniels. Then,
Matt Bentley hit Samoa Joe with a flying elbow from the top rope to where Daniels
then hit the BME on Bentley for a near fall. X-Division action at it’s best was
being showcased tonight on Genesis! At this time we now saw a Tower of Doom to
where Joe was the only man standing as he cleared the ring and got the knee up
on Bentley. Just before Bentley was going to taste another big boot, Bentley hit
a stiff Super Kick taking him down but it was Daniels there to make the save for
Joe. Samoa Joe later hit the Muscle Buster and locked in the Rear Naked Choke to
eliminate Bentley. Chris Sabin was the final remaining competitor from his team.
Sabin immediately took action first with a swing-around DDT hitting down Joe at
the same time. This was his time to shine, as he was going to hit a Cradle
Shock. Daniels though stopped that, as he now was going to hit the Cradle Shock
on Daniels but this time Joe stopped that. Joe now wanted to hit the Muscle
Buster on Sabin; however, it was Matt Bentley who pulled him out. Christopher
Daniels saw the opportunity and took action by eliminating Chris Sabin with the
Angels Wings, gaining the win for his team.

Austin Aries came to the ring after intermission and cut a promo on the fans,
starting with the polar opposite of a cheap pop before complaining about everyone
in the crowd and their behaviour towards him. He had been the ROH Champion, and
that meant he did things on his schedule, and he had decided he was leaving.
This brought out MEW promoter Daniel Fitch, who told Aries that if he left now he
wouldn’t get paid. It was then announced that Aries' match with Raven later on
would be under Raven’s Rules.
Austin Aries came out for the match with Simply Luscious at his side. Raven got
on the mic before the match and cut a short promo. The match began and soon they
were fighting on the outside, up into the crowd. Raven hit Aries several times
causing him to fall down the stairs down to the floor. Raven threw Aries into
the ring steps, and locked in the anklelock several times on the floor. Eventually
they got back into the ring. Aries went for the 450 but missed. Raven hit his

Raven Effect but Luscious interfered. Then…the unnanounced, unscheduled Sandman
arrived. Sandman got hold of Luscious and spanked her before putting her in a
sleeper. Aries then got Sandman in a sleeper, and Raven put Aries in a sleeper.
The ref started checking their arms, but at two they were all broken up.
Luscious was taken out thanks to a Singapore Cane shot right on the head, but

CM Punk defeated Austin Aries to become the new ROH World champion in 30:30.
Words cannot do this justice. Everyone knew that this was going to be Punk's last
match in the company, and he was over like a god. The heat for this match was
just tremendous. Crowd went crazy for Punks entrance, and just like last weekend
in NYC were chanting "please don't go" and "thank you Punk" and "CM Punk" over
and over. Literally every time Punk did something, the crowd cheered. And everytime
Aries did something, even just a simple look to the crowd, the fans booed the
hell out of him. It was basically the most ideal situation, a babyface vs a heel.
The match itself was a bonafide match of the year candidate. Aries gave Punk a
death valley driver on the ring apron. Finish saw Aries keep trying to go for the
450 splash, but Punk kept getting up and trying to meet him on the top rope to
hit the Pepsi Plunge! Eventually, Aries countered and hit Punk with the Plunge
instead, and Punk Hulked up, kicking out at the count of one, and the place was
going crazy. The actual finish was Punk hit the Pepsi Plunge himself
and got the three count. Mega pop for the finish. The crowd was going crazy.
They demanded a speach from Punk. Punk talked about how the ROH title was the
most important title in North America. He went on to talk about the story where
a man finds a snake in the ice and he saves it, and then the snake goes and
bites the man. And then...
Punk did a total 180 and turned completely heel. He told the crowd that he was
just like the devil, and that no one saw this coming. He went on to call us all
suckers for believing. He said that the ROH title was the most important title
in the world now. The fans completely turned on Punk as well, and Punk was getting
incredible heel heat. He said no one in the locker room could beat him for the
title, and dared anyone to come out and try. Punk turned his attention to the
entrance waiting for someone, and as he did, Christopher Daniels came through
the crowd and hit the ring drawing a gigantic pop. They fought for a brief few
seconds, and Daniels went for the Best Moonsault Ever, but Punk cleared the ring
and Daniels landed on his feet. Daniels challenged Punk for the title right then
and there. Punk refused and left through the crowd, never to be seen again. Daniels
got on the mic and talked about how Punk, in storyline, took him out of ROH, and
when he was ready to return, he had to make a choice between ROH and TNA and he
had to pick TNA. He stated he was happy to be back and that his goal was to win
the ROH world title.

This was really stiff. The Rottweilers were ejected from ringside prior to the

head, and then picked him up and delivered a Ki Crusher off the top rope for the
pin. After the match, Homicide put Aries in position for the Cop Killer and Low
Ki was going to come off the top rope with a double stomp to his balls to make
more impact, but Jack Evans and Roderick Strong came out for the save. This led
to Evans eventually doing a double flip onto the Rotts, and Monsta Mack in
particular to the outside. This led to Low Ki being in the ring alone, and Jay
Lethal returning, laying Ki out with a dragon suplex to hype up their match next
week in Morristown. Lethal then left as Homicide got back in the ring, to end the show.
